I'm not Lisa

Or Caroline. Or Pat.
Scaryduck's post, On having an evil twin called Dave, reminded me of one of the odder aspects of my life, mainly, I seem to be sharing a face with at least two other women, neither of whom I know.
It all started during my teen years. There is another woman my age from my home town who looks so similar to me, my best friend's mother, God bless her, used to regularly run into her whilst out and about and be affronted because "I" wouldn't speak to her. I would have been nowhere near the place she'd seen "me."
Around the same time,a hairdresser who cut my hair on a regular basis told me my sister was another of his clients. I have no sisters.
Shortly after the hairdresser incident, a new co-worker told me I looked just like one of her friends named Caroline. She showed me a picture. I did. I'm assuming this was the same person spotted by my friend's mom and the hairdresser.

Then I moved a thousand miles or so away and it started all over again.
A dentist I worked with told me my sister was one of his patients. I have no sisters.

A coffee shop clerk told me she saw my picture in the paper the previous day. Wasn't me.

At an outdoor concert, someone called out, "What are YOU doing here?" then called me by another name, and started chatting away not 3 feet from me, and was genuinely surprised when I claimed not to be the person she thought I was. She called over 3 colleagues who all swore I was a dead ringer for another of their colleagues named Pat.
On several occasions, I've had total strangers start talking to me in public and be just as startled that I wasn't who they thought I was.
By my reckoning there are at least three woman in Atlantic Canada who look just like me. Which is rather cruel and unusual punishment for everyone else, I think.

Duckface - How kind of you.

R'pus - And apparently, anywhere on the east coast would do. "We're" everywhere!

Zoe - I thought you'd promised to never speak of that again. Can't even trust your own sister. What's the world coming to?

mronlv - what we shall all witness tomorrow. or in fact, today, as it's already VD in most parts of the world.
