News Flash! East Coast Blogmeet unqualified success!
And it was pretty darned cool, if I do say so myself. The fact that I had no idea from whence passengers deplaning from international flights would emerge was eventually figured out in time, i.e. I was there when Ricardipus came through the door and he didn't see me wandering about the airport, camera around neck, looking like a rube lost in the big city. In my defense, I've only ever met domestic flights at this airport.
And he was not 4'8" so the T-shirt might actually fit. AND he had a fab T-shirt and coffee mug for me!
Not only did the the first East Coast Blogmeet come off without a hitch, it featured the inaugural appearance of the Amazing Balancing Fish (TM), our 'apropo to the locale' answer to Misty's Duck Balancers Utd.
We showed each other pics of our families - the cute wee Ricardipi, the lovely Mrs. Ricardipus and the not nearly as wee as the R'pi, Wrathlets - he had his first 'how-to-tell-you're-back-in-Canada' fix of Tim Horton's coffee (lifeblood of all Canucks) and we flapped our gums for several hours about ought and nought whilst touring the broad expanse of the local airport. Okay, you can see both ends from the middle and walk it in about 3 minutes but ya gots ta work with what ya gots ta work with.
So, all in all, a success. And to express my amazement at actually meeting the creator of that delightful line-drawing avatar and to match Ricardipus' Sam Gamgee quote, as Sam said when he finally found Frodo, "You're not dreaming at all..." said Sam. "It's real. It's me."

tidviyk - the Polish Telletubby
so he's not an axe-wielding murderer ? I bet you talked non-stop about chainsaws.
you did, didn't youse ?
Some of the preamble to this is now up over at Zoe's place... and copied at my place for legibility.
Nope no picture of you two. I'm so disappointed.
rik - I think you need to a) be a Flickr members, and b) be tagged by Dawn as a "friend".
Or she could just email it to you I suppose. Hint - I'm the slightly taller one.
R'pus is a) correct and b) correct.
2nd hint - I'm the slightly wider one.
Oh, and Zoe? We DID discuss chainsaws, but only briefly. And I am sworn to secrecy on that point.
But we both still have both feet. I'll leave it up to you to draw the conclusion from that.
