For Coopernicus

Click on the nice map and go to page 2 and voila! All is explained. I live on the turquoise-coloured island on the top right hand side.

A half hour time zone. Yep. One of two several on the planet. Really silly idea, isn't it? It's explained here.

So where in the heck is the *other* one? Papua New Guinea?

P.S. Erin - the pointiest bits are in Canada, not the US. 100% fact.

I stand corrected there are more than two offset time zones. Go here for more info.

Did they include that extra half-hour in the day so that you have time to shovel snow?

Sadly, there is no extra half hour. We just get to experience it sooner than the rest of North America.
