Mad about Mad Men

Have I told you of my unnatural love for the TV series "Mad Men?" I have not. People, it is my childhood come to life. As best I can figure, the character Sally Draper is my age. They have done a stellar job with props (the Drapers have my parents' toaster!) and sets (that turquoise paint? on our living room) and the behaviour (pregnant women, smoking and drinking and children most definitely NOT coddled) of the time.

I think one of the scenes that displays just how different things were 40+ years ago is this one.

I'd like to know how the show got the permission of:

a) the little girl's parents, and even more amazing;
b) the insurance company,

to film this.
